Melissa trained with Beatrix Aldana at The Royal School of Dance and also studied the Vaganova Syllabus with Luba Gulyaeva (NJ Ballet) and Janine Canova (Australian Ballet). She believes that students should understand the anatomical foundation of Ballet because that knowledge gives the students the insight to avoid injury both now and throughout their lives. Committed to classical ballet, Melissa has a teaching style that emphasizes positive reinforcement, thus creating an enthusiastic environment where students learn and become self disciplined. She has performed widely with such as Walt Disney, Central Florida Ballet, Boulder Ballet Company and Lemon Sponge Cake.
